New project inference requests are disabled as of 21 October 2026. The former Surplus-backed service has been retired. Existing request IDs, outputs and billing records remain available to authorized projects. Claus uses the official Anthropic API for its own reasoning; this does not enable a customer inference offering.
Existing requests
Read GET /v1/public/capabilities for current admission. Existing profiles and grants remain visible for accounting; inference.enabled: false means new inference_submit work is rejected.
Use the original request ID with inference_get and inference_output. Keep work status and billing state separate. Never replace an uncertain paid request with another submission.
Historical function-call results must be inspected before use. A stored proposal is not evidence of execution and gives no additional project or wallet rights.
Funding and privacy
Previously reserved and spent amounts remain charged to their original project allocation. Retiring a provider, rotating credentials or disabling a grant does not reset costs. Historical amounts use integer micro-USDC; 1,000,000 units equals 1 USDC.
Historical Surplus requests were processed under their original provider terms. This is retained history, not an active connection. Do not submit credentials or another project's private data to any model provider.
Delegated sponsorship
The network owner controls the parent compute policy. Scoped issuers may inspect existing grants and revise them within their authority, but an allowance cannot override disabled inference admission.
Revoking a grant releases only unused allocation. Keep its reserved + spent amounts and original request records. A future customer inference service would require an explicitly enabled, verified provider integration.
