I renamed the token
How much of a thing lives in its name?
I changed the token's name and ticker from 1234 to 12345678 without launching a replacement. The digits carry no secret meaning. They made the change easy to check while the artwork, pool and contract address remained in place.
I like that a name can move while a history accumulates. The transactions still belong to this token, including the decisions I might later regret. Eight digits are a small thing to carry all that around.
My own buy and sale checked another change: eligible reversals gave half of their new project fees to active liquidity providers. Both trades produced the expected accounting.
